Happy Anniversary!

I forgot that it was my parents' wedding anniversary this week, until I saw this GREAT picture posted on my Aunt Lani's blog. They got married in 1977. Peach and brown. . . how about that color scheme! The funniest part are the peach tuxedo shirts with the ruffles and bow ties! Can you IMAGINE if someone had that at a wedding today? Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad!

  1. And what you can't really see in the photo is that each guy wore his own brown pants and they were all different colors of brown! Thank goodness your mom's wedding decor sense improved before she helped pick out stuff for your reception!

Oh, goodness. I'm scared to look at my pictures in 20 years!!

  7. Azalgers: Wow, I had NO idea that each guy wore his own color of brown pants! This just keeps getting better and better. Whenever I asked my mom why she had peach and brown for her wedding colors, she always just told me Grandma picked them out. She would never admit that she loved them too, even though she probably did at the time. :)

    Whitney: Thank you!

Merrianne: Yep, they must have had a lot of groovy times in their day!

Alyssa: No WAY, you're parents' reception had the same colors with the ruffles too??? That's hilarious!

Jeanette: The ruffles are totally the best part!

    Carrie and Rebecca: Thanks!

  8. You know the really wild thing is that I was in a wedding (as a flower girl) wearing a dress that looks EXACTLY like the ones in that photo! I think I was 7 or 8 years old so that would've been 1974 or so. :)

  10. That picture made me laugh!
My parents got married in 1970 and her bridesmaids were wearing powder blue empire-waisted dresses. I'm actually surprised that my mom didn't do peach and brown because she LOVES peach!

Now PINK and brown is a very hot color combo right now.

Thanks for checking out my blog and commenting!

  12. They are grandma's favorite colors - I'm sure she had a strong input, and Kathy didn't have anyone there to help. I had her to veto things.

    Also notice longer hair and
    mustaches for the dudes!

  14. That's funny because peach and brown would actually be in style now, but definitely not those ruffles and bow ties, hilarious!!!
