Adorable Etsy Shops: Cozy Up For Fall Super-Giveaway!!!

Etsy-lovers rejoice. . . I've got three prizes you'll be dying to get your hands on!!! For everyone who loves handmade items or just adorable things in general, this is the giveaway for you! (And stay tuned for some gorgeous Etsy jewelry giveaways coming up soon too!)

My first featured shop is. . . Herbalnights Handmade Knits!

Aren't these cupcake beanies just the cutest??? I chose to review one and it makes such a fun statement when I wear it! They're hand-knit from high quality yarn, and really warm. I love their unique design, with the cute little cherry on top! Custom orders are always welcome, so she can make you a cupcake (or any other hat in her shop) in any color you want!

This candy corn hat totally makes me smile. . . and it's on special sale right now too!

Herbalnights is offering one winner their choice of any hat in her shop!!! You can choose a cupcake hat, a striped beanie, one with ear flaps, the sky's the limit!

Featured Etsy shop #2 is full of whimsical and unique designs. You will find a TON of variety here, which is one reason why I love Ilze's Memories!
She creates beautiful accessories, unique photo props, hand-knitted hats, truly something for everyone! And she's offering one winner a $30 gift certificate to her shop!!!

The hardest decision would be what to spend it on! You could actually get a whole bunch of stuff with it, her prices are so great! I'm loving this Halloween bobby pin for only $3. . .

And her baby hats are just perfect for newborn photo props or for wearing every day! I received a baby Owl Hat like this one (but in bright pink!) and I can't help but smile when I look at it. It's SO soft, too! I can't wait to photograph my new little one wearing it!

Her blooms are all so exquisitely detailed, and I love the different colors she uses and the look of her designs. And she loves to create custom orders!

The flowers would work great for photo props or for adults to wear on pins or in their hair! This red one is SO elegant!

I received this Fall In Love Flower Pin to review, and I'm just crazy about the colors! Reminds me of a crisp fall day, and it looks perfect pinned onto a brown sweater or bag!
I'd be so excited to spend a $30 gift certificate in the Ilze's Memories shop. . . I'm sure you will be too!

My third featured shop for this post is the perfect shop for chilly fall and winter days and nights. You can be warm AND be stylish with handmade knit and crochet fashions from LazyTCrochet!
Tons of different accessories and gifts can be found in this boutique! All kinds of gorgeous wraps, shawls, cowls, hats, mittens, fingerless gloves, and felted handbags. And looking at them all makes me wish I knew how to knit so I could make such gorgeous designs too!

LazyTCrochet is offering one winner a pair of fingerless gloves in any color you choose!

Check out all the beautiful color choices:

I got to review a pair, and I chose Autumn Red. Let me tell you, they are stunning! SO beautiful, soft, warm, and cozy! I just want to wear them everywhere, and I love having my fingers free so I can still use my hands while keeping my arms and hands warm. I have never owned anything like these before, and I absolutely love them!

Fabulous Finds: Shutterfly Christmas Cards!

It's that time of the year again. . . time for all of us to start thinking about those Christmas cards! I had so much fun putting ours together last year, and I liked so many designs I couldn't pick just one so I made two different holidays cards and sent them out to different people. It's just SO easy to put them together now, with so many wonderful online sites to choose from!

One of my favorite places to order holiday cards is most definitely from Shutterfly. They have great prices and so many fun and adorable designs! I ordered some of mine from them last year, and I loved having the option to pick them up at a local store instead of waiting to have them shipped to me.

Of course, the key to having great Christmas photo cards is to start with great family photos! I loved our family photos we got last year, so I thought the cards looked adorable. This year will be another story. . . with the new baby coming so soon, I know I'm not going to get a real family portrait taken until next summer (I really hate indoor studio family portraits, and it'll be too cold to take the tiny newborn out for awhile!) So for this year we'll have to do some kind of combination birth announcement/Christmas card and just include pictures of the kids and the new baby. My favorite Christmas card designs are the ones that let you include multiple photos, like these three from Shutterfly:

1~ I love the unique shape to this card and the ability to include so many photos!

2~ I also like non-traditional colors, like this one has, and three photos looks stunning on this card!

3~ SO cute! I love flat cards, rather than the kind you open up, and this one has a lot of style and flair!

Last year I found a great alternative to including the cheesy Christmas letter. (No offense to all the Christmas letter writers out there! I know they're popular!) Instead of a letter, I got address labels made up that said "For the latest and greatest on our family, visit our blog!" I included my blog address and just directed people over here, and then put a sticker on each card. I thought it was a great idea!

Do you want 50 free holiday cards from Shutterfly? Click here to go to Shutterfly for information on how you can get 50 free cards this holiday season, and make sure to select Clever 1000 as the referral source.

*This post is part of a series sponsored by Shutterfly. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do.

Down Home at the Country Fair!

Yee-haw!!!
I am by no means a redneck, in fact I'm much more of a city girl than a farm girl. I love trying out new restaurants, going to big-running theater shows, shopping, city lights, and excitement! I have an intense dislike for all of the following things:
~Large birds, including but not limited to: chickens, geese, roosters, and turkeys
~That farm animal/barnyard smell
~Pulling weeds, shucking corn, and gardening in general (yes, I grew up doing a lot of these things)

I'd rather have a forest in my yard than a vegetable garden. I've never milked a cow before, and don't feel the need to add that to my list of life must-do's. However, I do happen to LOVE. . .

Country fairs, demolition derbys, and rodeos!!! LOVE them!!! Not many things are more fun or all-American than those three things.

So, our family headed to the Evergreen State Fair while it was running for some good old-fashioned country fair FUN!!! Sadly, we did not get to see a Demolition Derby or a Rodeo that day.
But we DID see a sheriff riding a giant chicken. . .

We petted some farm animals, and of course the kids loved them. . .

We ate fresh-cut french fries, hot dogs, and caramel-dipped apples for dinner. . .

We spent a ridiculous amount of money on ride tickets, even though we discovered Kirsten wasn't tall enough to ride the rough and dangerous ferris wheel. . . (At least she loved the merry-go-round! Always a safe bet!)

She also got to ride something by herself for the first time ever. . .

Got my pregnant self refused admittance onto the 2 mph kiddie train. . . (seriously, I couldn't ride! Stephen had to ride it with her instead!)

Succumbed to the demands of a 3 year-old who wanted to exchange her balloon animal for a different balloon animal every time we walked past the vendor stand. . .

And had a really fun time overall! It may not be anything close to the Del Mar Fair in San Diego (best. fair. EVER.) but it was big enough to keep us occupied for a few hours and empty our wallets of cash, while still small enough for the young kids and pregnant people to not get too exhausted. I'd call that a successful family outing!

Fabulous Finds: House Beautiful Super-Giveaway!!!

Oh, the dreams of having a beautiful house! I'm pretty happy with the nice townhouse we've got, with the new and pretty appliances, but I wish we had room in our living room for a really nice ottoman coffee table like this one from CSN Stores. It even has storage inside it! But if I put that in our room, we'd have absolutely no floor space for the kids to play! Hmm, floor space or a really pretty place to get the toys out of the way? Anyway, on with the giveaway. . .

You want to know one thing that in my book is totally worth splurging on?
Luxurious bath towels!
Seriously, it makes a major difference in your day to step out of the shower and wrap yourself in soft, absorbent comfort rather than some scratchy old towel from WalMart. I thought my favorite bath towels were from the Kohl's Luxury Collection, but I recently discovered some that I like even better. . . and lucky for my readers, one of you will win a set of two of these amazing bath towels!

Prize #1 for this giveaway is a beautiful set of 2 Organic Bath Towels from the Turkish Towel Company! I promise you will love them as much as I do!
Why they're so incredible:
*They're made from the softest plush 100% organic cotton!
*They are super THICK and absorbent! A really nice big size too. And no matter how many times you wash them, they stay soft and gorgeous.
*The crisp white color and luxurious feel to them makes it seem like you're in a high-end spa (if you close your eyes and ignore the views of the rest of your bathroom).

I feel so lucky that I was able to review these towels and I don't want to go back to any others! My husband loves them too!

Now for Prize #2. . . A $25 gift certificate to the Byrdie Graphics Etsy shop!
This shop is chock-full of unique and interesting vinyl wall decals to really spice up your home or apartment! I received this cute Chubby Bird on a Branch decal to review. Isn't he just so adorable? Mine will not be going on my refrigerator, although I love the idea of adding graphics in unexpected spaces like this!

Byrdie Graphics will customize absolutely everything according to the size and colors you desire, so your $25 can be good towards anything you want! Wall decals are way easier (not to mention cuter!) than painting or wallpaper, and they're a really great option for renters because they will easily come off your walls without leaving any residue!

Isn't this just the most cheerful room? I love it!

Byrdie Graphics has plenty of big decals to choose from, and I'm also really impressed by all of their small images available that you can play around with. Some cost as low as $2! It's really fun to look around the shop and get inspired by all the cute ideas and rooms!

Next item up for grabs is. . . a fun and vibrant pillow cover from the Persnickety Home Designs Etsy shop!
I just love this fabric! I chose to review this throw pillow cover because I couldn't wait to put it on my black couch. It looks so fabulous there! And one winner will get the same pillow cover I chose. . . made with Alexander Henry's Kleo in black!

Persnickety Home Designs offers 8 whole pages full of really great fabric choices for your throw pillow covers! You'll find something you love, no matter what your design style or favorite colors are, and there's a really great Autumn Sale going on right now! Here are a few more details about this pillow cover:
*It's made for a 16x16" square pillow
*The quality is wonderful! It's double-stitched and beautifully sewn.
*It's a removable cover, for easy machine washing. This is perfect for homes like mine with young kids!

Prize #4 is a really cool and useful gadget. . . a Fogless Shower Mirror from ToiletTree Products!
My husband uses this a lot more than I do, since he shaves in the shower every morning, and it's so nice to find a mirror that really sticks to the wall and really doesn't fog up!

Why this product is so great:
*There's an easy-fill reservoir that you just fill up with hot water from your shower head before each use, and it neutralizes the air and water temperature to eliminate fog! Pretty genius!
*It'll stick right onto your shower wall with silicone cups and it's strong and sturdy. It was super easy to install it on the wall.
*It makes it easier to shave by having an adjustable frame and a small shelf to hold the razor.
*The mirror is shatterproof, lightweight, and made from acrylic.

The last prize in my House Beautiful Super-Giveaway is this sleek and modern-looking wall decal called "Fly Away" from the Urban Walls Etsy shop!
This Fly Away set would look so awesome in a bedroom, a home office, an entryway, or any wall that needs some visual interest and whimsy added to it!

I'm really blown away by so many of the amazing designs in the Urban Walls shop. They will customize colors and sizes for you and help you make your home or apartment come alive! I got to review this Tree Branch decal, and it's just so intricate and beautiful!
(Um, on an unrelated note, I wish that chair was also mine! How cool is that?)

I could spend a WHOLE lot of money in this shop. You could design an entire room around the amazing graphics! These Fall Trees are stunning!

This House Beautiful Super-giveaway has 5 winners!!!

18 Months Old!!!

Natalie is 18 months old! Wow! It really seems like she's been in our home so much longer than that. It's hard to even remember a time when she wasn't a part of our family!

Here are 18 things I never want to forget about Natalie at 18 months old:

*1* Her vocabulary is growing and it's so much fun! Her word choices are really random, too. She hasn't said "Fish" yet, but she'll hold up the alligator toy in the bathtub and clearly say, "Alligator!" Also, she hasn't said mouth or nose but she can say "Belly button" and point to hers or someone else's. It always cracks me up to hear her say it, too. It sounds like "Beddybujjah" or something.
Some other favorite words are: Ball, bath, kitty, hello, hi, bye bye, uh-oh, baby, and butterfly.
*2* She always has the same answer to any question we ask her. . . "Mmm-mmm" and shakes her head no. Doesn't matter what it is! She hasn't said No yet, though.

*3* She loves songs, being sung to, and dancing to music. She'll dance and spin around the room so much she gets dizzy and falls down in fits of laughter. I love the way she brings specific stuffed animals to me when she wants me to sing certain songs. She brings me Winnie the Pooh to hear his song, and a dolphin puppet to hear "Baby Beluga."

*4* She's SO addicted to sippy cups it's not even funny. She constantly tries to steal Kirsten's sippy cups, and so I give her her own and she just carries them everywhere. She climbs stairs with them and can usually be seen with someone's cup (not always her own!) in her hand. She's the biggest cup thief I've ever seen!
*5* She has always loved car rides, and with very few exceptions she's a complete angel in the car. She's happy to sit quietly and look out the window, and crying in the car is a rare thing for her. (Kirsten was never that way and it's nice!)

*6* Natalie finally started walking at 16 months, and she's pretty good at it now! When we're outside she still likes to be carried around though, and if you try to hold her hand and have her walk next to you she'll usually fall to the ground and cry. Frustrating!

*7* She really enjoys puzzles (even though she can't do most of them yet) and brings me toys all the time so I can help her turn them on or figure them out. Her favorite toy is probably the Busy Ball Popper, and she also loves Kirsten's small toys that she's really too young to play with, of course.

*8* She's much more of a Daddy's girl than Kirsten ever was! When Stephen comes home she screeches and smiles and rushes right towards him. If he doesn't pick her up right away, she gets really mad.

*9* Almost nothing makes Natalie happier than seeing our kitties. She ADORES them and would spend all her time next to them if she could. She can be mid-cry and see a kitty, and then she'll start laughing and saying, "Kitty!" Only one out of our three cats will let her get close enough to touch him, and she'll give him hugs and lay her head on him. Bless his heart, look at what our sweet Herbie cat endures from time to time. . .

(You can't really blame the other kitties for running away from her. But just check out that look of joy on her face! I'm glad we have another cat lover in the house. Doesn't Herbie look so thrilled?)
*10* She's so cute and fun when she's happy! But try to take something away from her that she wants to keep and WATCH OUT! This girl definitely knows what she wants and she's not afraid to let everyone know it.

*11* She hates to feel left out, and wants to be right in the center of all the action going on. Heaven forbid we give Kirsten anything she can't have too, or not give her as much attention as she wants.

*12* She loves to play outside, and has tons of fun on slides and swings and petting any and all animals. She also loves the water! Baths are one of her favorite things, and if there's a lake or a pool nearby she'll just walk right into it.

*13* The other thing (besides kitties and songs) that makes Natalie happy beyond all reason is FOOD. If she has food, she's usually a happy girl. She eats more than Kirsten does, and eats a lot more variety than Kirsten does too. I know this could change, but she's not a picky eater so far! Some of her favorite foods: All fruits, macaroni and cheese, yogurt, jello, hot dogs, potatoes, avocado, and cheese.

*14* She's also a messy eater! When she gets bored she'll just start throwing food off her tray or mashing it all up together and smearing it around. Just look what she did with the bowl full of blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries I gave her one day. PAINTED herself and her whole high chair with them!

*15* She has the cutest little laugh! I just love the sound of it!

*16* Natalie is loud. She just always has been. When she cries, it's like she could wake the dead. Kirsten always had such a quiet voice and still does, so it's been totally different having a girl with such a loud cry and a loud voice. I guess the middle child needs to be heard!

*17* She's a really great sleeper! She typically goes to bed around 7:30 or 8 and doesn't wake up until 9 or 10 the next morning. That's right. . . 10 am! Just like me, she's not a morning person! :) I just hope this continues.
*18* Just like her middle name, Natalie is such a joy! We absolutely love having her in our family! Happy 18 months, little girl!!!

October Fun For Kids Super-Giveaway!!!

I'm pretty excited about this giveaway. . . if you have kids of any ages, boys or girls or both, or just want to win some fabulous gifts for special kids in your life, you'll be able to use and enjoy all of these products!

#1. . . A $25 gift certificate to Little One Books!
This website selling books, music, and videos is just so precious! I had a really hard time choosing which product I wanted to review from them (there were just SO many great options!), but I settled on Sesame Street's 40 Years of Sunny Days anniversary DVD set. Since my 3 year-old is a huge Sesame Street fan and has been since she was a tiny baby (seriously, she loved that show pretty much since birth!) it's been a big hit at our house. It includes clips from all 40 years of Sesame Street, with some of their most popular songs, characters, and guest appearances.

Why I'm so impressed by Little One Books:
*Each of their products has been personally reviewed and hand selected based on their ability to benefit children from birth through age 5. They only sell products that they've done all the research on!
*On the page of each and every product, they include a detailed "Why we chose this" section.
*Special offer right now: They offer free shipping and handling on ALL orders, no matter how much you spend, now through November 15'th! I'll definitely be ordering some Christmas gifts!

#2. . . THREE winners will each receive a Trivial Pursuit Steal card game!
This is one of the newest games available from Hasbro, and we were excited to try it out at our house. This one is really for older kids or adults to enjoy (it says ages 16 and up), but it's a really good option for a short game if you have only 15 minutes or so to play. It can be really difficult to find good short games! And 2 people can even play! It's a fast-paced game, and I love being able to steal other players' wedges. Didn't you always want to do that when you played the original Trivial Pursuit?

#3. . . Remember my rave review about the nontoxic, all natural, kid-friendly nail polish from Piggy Paint? (In case you don't, go read it here!)
Piggy Paint wants to offer another $15 gift certificate to one of my readers!!!

They have a really cool new Tween line out called "Project Earth" with lots of bright, fun colors including a glow-in-the-dark paint that kids would go nuts for.
*Special offer- You can save 10% off all orders when you use the code 'FAM10L' until December 31'st. And if you spend $35 or more, shipping is free!

#4. . . Some fun new music from the Flannery Brothers! One reader will win a copy of their new CD, The New Explorers Club.
My kids have really enjoyed this CD! You can go to their website and hear samples of their songs. All I have to do is turn on the first song and both my kids start dancing around and clapping! It's a lot of fun! The songs are upbeat and totally kid-friendly without being annoying to parents. It's our new favorite!

#5. . . A fun pair of Ski Banz from Baby Banz!
You and your kid will both love these ultra cool wrap-around banded sunglasses from Australia. What's so great about them?
*They have 100% UV-protective lenses.
*The adjustable bands are really flexible and ensure a perfect fit for kids up to 10 years old. They're really comfortable too!
*There are lots of fun colors and styles to choose from. The Ski Banz are perfect for all kinds of outdoor play, whether in the snow or out of it, and are compatible with helmets too!

#6. . . A Munchie Mug!
This product is such a great one for letting toddlers wander around with snacks, while preventing messes and spills at the same time! The cloth opening at the top remains closed, except when kids put their hand in to pull out a handful of snacks. It's really easy for them to get their hand in, and the cloth closes automatically after they take their hand out. They can drop the Munchie Mug, and nothing falls out of it! I've been really impressed with ours. I've found that it works perfectly with small snacks like Goldfish crackers, Cheerios, and those little Gerber toddler puffs. The winner gets one in their color of choice!
