Gift Guide: S'Quarrels Game Review and Giveaway!!!

In my house, we are GAME people. We love games!!! We play them for hours on end, and our favorite thing is to have friends over to play games late into the night! I'm always on the look-out for fun new games, and our friend Bryan recently developed a BRAND NEW and really fun card game called S'Quarrels!

S'Quarrels is the perfect family game! It really is great for ALL ages. As soon as kids can read, they can play this game, and adults love it too! It's entertaining, fast-paced, and pretty simple but with lots of twists and quirks that keep it really interesting. It's a wonderful game to take with you when you travel (I first played it on a camping trip!). If you're looking for Christmas gifts that you know will be original and something they've never seen before, this is it!!! This game was just released at the beginning of November, so it is fresh off the shelves and waiting for families to enjoy it!

The goal of this game is to store as many acorns as you can before winter comes. You play multiple rounds, and the first player to get 50 acorns (or whatever other score you want to choose) is the winner!

My favorite things about S'Quarrels include:

*You never know how long each round will last! There's one 'Winter' card in the deck, and as soon as that card comes up the round is over and you count up your scores. So you don't know whether each round will be long or short. It keeps things exciting!

*It's really a conflict-free game. Since our family plays lots of games that bring out people's competitive spirits (Settlers of Catan, etc), it's nice to play a game that you're not going to argue about.

*It's really interactive. . . you actually get to race to slap the cards the fastest if a certain action card is played!

*The Golden Acorn gives 5 bonus points to whoever has it in their hand when Winter comes. There's also a Rotten Acorn, for negative 5 points. The cards get passed around from hand to hand (especially the Rotten Acorn), but you never know when you'll get stuck with it!

*It's a really easy game to learn, and you can teach people how to play extremely quickly. For full game instructions, go here.

S'Quarrels would make a really awesome stocking stuffer! If you're getting a gift for an entire family or for a child who recently learned to read, this is your game!
You can go here for a whole list of retailers (in Washington or Utah), or to order them online! Each deck is only $12.99!!!

This photo includes images of all the cards in the deck:

  36. I think the game is really fun because it always changes up. I also like the fact that if I can't remember a rule, I can always call and ask Bryan. If he's not available, I can make up the rule and the game still continues on.
