Both of my kids liked to squirm and kick. They hated being swaddled. We stopped swaddling when they left the hospital. My 6 month old still sleeps in sleep sacs instead of blankets. I won't let her sleep with a loose blanket until she's at least one.

I love all of the little girls jewelry! My three year old is obsessed with necklaces...although I have a hard time choosing a favorite!
ReplyDeleteI swaddled my first baby FOREVER it seemed because that was the only way she would stay asleep...so it was at least until she was 9 months old. My second daughter, though, would have nothing to do with swaddling (she hated it) and slept much better free as a bird. :)

ReplyDeleteI swaddled our first off and on...mostly because she could break out of the swaddle really quickly and it didn't do much good to wrap her up when two seconds later her arms were out...it did come in handy though when she started to think it was great fun to pull up and stand and walk around her crib instead of sleep...we probably retired it for good around 9 months.

I like the Julius! Matching Game. I comes in a cute box and I could use a matching game for my 23 month old.
ReplyDeleteI swaddled my 1st until he could roll over and would get stuck in really weird positions. My baby girl is 2.5 months and doesn't like to be swaddled as much. She sleeps really well even when she is not swaddled, so we might not swaddle her quiet as long (plus she might be a late roller because she is already almost 15 pounds...she eat a bit too well I guess).

ReplyDeleteWe swaddle on and off. I wear baby a lot (slings and wraps) so it's too hot to swaddle and not necessary. When I do swaddle in the summer I love my A&A muslin blanket because it's big & lightweight & it has been a HOT, HOT summer!
ReplyDeleteI think how long we will swaddle is very child dependent. I think we stopped when our 1st was 5-7 months old - it was also season/temperature/weather dependent.
