I have been curious about cloth diapering for awhile, but was too scared to actually try it.
Snugs Boutique, a wonderful company based in Canada, sent me a Pocket Diaper to review. There are tons of color choices, and I chose candy pink!
When this diaper arrived in the mail, I took one look at it and thought, wow, this is one high-tech diaper! Seriously. . . these are not your Grandma's cloth diapers. My mom used to put cloth diapers on me, and they were those flat diapers with the safety pins! Can you imagine? This diaper is sooooo soft, cushy, comfortable, and really CUTE! It makes disposable diapers look really un-stylish!

Andrea, the owner of this boutique, actually makes these high-quality diapers by hand! Some of the really cool features include:
*TONS of snaps, to adjust for sizing and also with extra leg snaps for leak protection.
*Waterproof outer fabric!
*A pocket opening in the back for an insert, and it comes with a removable insert made of microfiber terry cloth. You can also double up the inserts for extra leak protection at night or for day trips!
*Really soft fleece on the inside, to keep moisture away from baby's skin and to prevent against diaper rash. Especially for babies with sensitive skin, this is awesome!
Andrea's goal at Snugs Boutique is to provide affordable, reliable, good-quality products to last through the special years of your child's life. Her concern for the environment and affordability are completely awesome! More companies should have those goals!
My verdict:
For my baby and my lifestyle, cloth diapering is just not for us. I commend all of you who choose to do it! But we're sticking with plain old disposables. However, I am still finding many uses for this wonderful diaper! I put it on my baby at night, over her other diaper, to protect against leaks and diaper explosions. I also put it on over her diaper with dresses or outfits where the diaper is showing, just because this one is so darn adorable!
Andrea has generously agreed to do a giveaway of any item in her shop that is $15 or under! You can use this for so many items if you're the winner, including:
*Pocket Diapers like the one I have
*Really cute Swim Diapers
*Bamboo Cloth Diapers
*Diaper Covers
*Little Leggings (sooooo stylish!)
*Maternity Belly Bands
*A 30-pack of Flannel Wipes (These would be awesome! And what a thoughtful gift item!)

I would choose a pocket diaper just like yours!
ReplyDeleteI cloth diaper because I am concerned about the effects that being wrapped in a chlorine filled diaper will have on my daughters! I also use cloth because it helps my family to save sooo much money! We are getting ready to welcome our second daughter into our family and I will have two in diapers and it will be so nice to be able to use and reuse the same diapers we have for my 18-month old on our newborn.
ReplyDeleteLittle Leggings stripped..so cute!
ReplyDeletejakellcth @ msn.com
I don't use cloth diapers because we are always busy and on the go and disposables seemed to work better then, for days at home i am sure they would be great!
ReplyDeletejakellcth@ msn.com
Since I have no diaper wearers right now I would get a pair of her adorable LEGGINGS! I love those things...so cute!
ReplyDeleteI never tried the cloth diapers because bowl movements seriously make me ill and the thought of having to scrub it out day after day (multiple times a day) just makes me green. Not saying I wouldn't look into it...
ReplyDeleteI would choose One Size Pocket Diaper
ReplyDeleteIt wouldbe great giftfor my new little relative :)
I'd love to try a bamboo pocket diaper!
ReplyDeleteI follow!
ReplyDeleteI would pick a M pocket diaper!
ReplyDeleteI would take a pocket diaper!
ReplyDeleteI use cloth! We save a lot of money this way, it's not as bad as it sounds (with flusable or fabric liners, it makes washing poopy diapers a breeze!), I LOVE how cute it is, and I'm just addicted to them. ;-) lol!
ReplyDeleteI follow!
ReplyDeleteI use cloth diapers when the baby is not at day care and sometimes at night. I use them because I think they are more comfortable and I like that chemicals are not always touching her skin. Of course it saves money, too:)
ReplyDeleteI blogged the link to the giveaway. :)
ReplyDeleteI would pick a pocket diaper. I love them. kristy2014@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteI would choose a bamboo pocket diaper in pink. Hadley will soon be in that size! If I had my choice of ANYTHING I would get a KAM snap press so I don't have to keep borrowing one.
ReplyDeleteI cloth diaper because it saves money and the environment. I'm very green and this just seems the best route for my baby and the earth. It totally helps that they are soo darn cute :)

My first baby is due in November, so I don't use any diapers yet, but I definitely want to explore both options before I decide which is best for us.
ReplyDeleteI will take the polka-dot leggings, thanks!
ReplyDelete(see that positive thinking there?)
I don't do cloth diapers because I'm lazy.

I would get a pocket diaper or a swim diaper.
ReplyDeleteI cloth diaper because it's SO easy and cheap! I even use the prefolds. I have some AIOs too but mostly prefolds.
ReplyDeleteI would get the one sized pocket diaper in orange. I am having a c-section on the 17th and would love to start cloth diapering!
ReplyDeleteI am nervous about cloth diapering, just bcz it's the unknown. I used disposables with my son, and I always thought cloth would be an expensive investment just to try out and was scared of leaks.
ReplyDeletei love the pocket diaper in any color except pink, and the swim diaper

ReplyDeleteI use cloth diapers to leave a better world for my son and to avoid having him exposed to nasty chemicals in disposables. However, I can't seem to convince anyone else in my circle to do the same.
ReplyDeleteI would choose two sets of leggings for my daughter to keep her snug and warm this time of the year!
ReplyDeleteTotally the little leggings. Adorable!
ReplyDeleteI would try a pocket. I have her bamboo AI2 and love it!

I never did cloth diapers because I was too lazy to be totally honest. Now that I have a grandchild and have lived a few years, I see the effects that throw away items are having on our environment. And I want that world to be a safe place to live in for my children and their children. Hoping to get some cloth diapers and cloth monthly items into the mix in our house soon!

I don't cloth diaper because I don't want to mess with the laundry - it really just comes down to laziness and the convenience of disposals when we're out and about.
ReplyDeletesmrtmouse at yahoo dot com
I'd choose a bamboo AI2 Cloth Diaper

ReplyDeleteI use cloth diapers both to save money and the environment...and because they're so cute!

ReplyDeleteI would get a M/L AI2, since I love AI2's and a 10 pack of wipes. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll follow you from now on :)
ReplyDeleteI chose to CD for finantial reasons at first but now would not feel right about throwing human waste into a landfill perfectly preserved in paper and plastic! I know Cloth is healthier for my baby too.
ReplyDeleteI would choose the Ocean Little leggings!

I would choose the pink dot leggings. So cute!
ReplyDeleteI cloth diaper for a bunch of reasons:
ReplyDelete1. It's cheaper than disposables.
2. It's much more environmentally friendly.
3. They're sooo cute!
4. My baby gets a rash from certain disposables, but is totally fine in pre-folds.
On my facebook- my sister CDs, and so does one of my friends, so I hope there's interest. :)

I would choose the pocket diaper like yours!
ReplyDeleteI cloth diaper primarily for cost's sake, secondarily for environmental issues (throwing out a whole garbage bag of diapers once a week? Ugh!), and once I researched it, I was horrified to find that there are things in diapers that are not good for our babies, although I do use disposables on occasion and used them for my daughter until she was 20 months. In another few days I'll start cloth diapering my now 10-day-old and re-start with my toddler again, after taking a break for birth and postpartum.
ReplyDeleteMy e-mail is nrcurlett@shaw.ca .
probably a mess of those flannel wipes--wonderful idea--but the leggings are pretty darn cute!

i did not use cloth diapers with my children, primarily because my husband was against it, but if we'd had the awesome cloth options there are now, we probably would have made the leap. i don't use them now, because i do not have any wee ones, but am a strong advocate for the wonderful new cloth diapers that are available, and always give some as shower gifts to new mamas.

The pocket diapers of course, in blue.

ReplyDeleteI am already a fan of cloth diapers, although I use ones in different brand, but I love to try this one. I use it because : 1. cloth diapers rarely cause rash, 2. environmentally friendlier, 3, earlier potty training, because I think it's more similar to training pants. Yes, my baby has been potty trained herself at the age of 1.
ReplyDeleteThis was a hard choice...I would love a Baby Ring Sling Carrier, but that is a little out of the price range. I like the idea of the swim diaper or a pair of baby leggings. Hard choice!
ReplyDeleteI have considered cloth diapers, but we share six washer and dryers with 220 freshman boys in a BYU housing unit, so it just didn't seem practical at this stage of life.
ReplyDeleteI'd like the grey argyle leggings
ReplyDeletetiramisu392 (at) yahoo.com
I would choose the 30pk of flannel wipes for my niece and her new baby boy.
ReplyDeleteheidig@gmail.com
leggings and after reading many of these posts I think I'd like to try cloth - the one you posted or the bamboo to give baby's bum "a breather" as another commenter suggested/mentioned...
ReplyDelete... we use disposable... years ago we thought about cloth with Baby and in the end decided (with the Sierra club's blessing) that the environmental impact of washing cloth was greater. We use chlorine free diapers (I love the full circle organic products at our new neighborhood grocer) as much as possible. Our new baby does have sensitive skin (our 1st did not) and the chlorine free work the best. As I mentioned in my other post, your readers have inspired me to try cloth and to talk to the school about whether they can/will support us in this. If not maybe we will use cloth at home and disposable at school. Thanks again for the opportunity to win and the information on what looks like a great product!
ReplyDeleteI'd get the Snugs Swim Diaper for my son!
