Kirsten is definitely taking her sweet time learning how to crawl. She always wants to be down on the floor trying to crawl, and she gets up on her hands and knees, rocks back and forth, and scoots backwards. She looks like she'll get the hang of crawling any day now. But... she's looked like that for a month or so already and she still can't do it.
I know it doesn't matter and has nothing to do with her future development, but I can't help but be impatient because most other babies her age and younger than her are already crawling everywhere. Other moms tell me to be glad she's not crawling yet, but she keeps getting frustrated when she scoots backwards instead of going forward the way she wants. She also gets stuck under things and in corners and always needs me to rescue her.
It's nice that I don't have to chase her around yet, but I will be really glad when she can crawl around and explore where she wants instead of fussing and crying on the floor because she can't do what she wants to do.
She also doesn't pull herself up on her crib or furniture yet. I think ALL other babies her age can do that! She loves it when I help her stand up by holding her hands, and she'll stand there for the longest time as long as I'm helping her. But she isn't motivated to pull herself up on stuff, and I'm not sure why that is.
I totally know what you are talking about. I cannot wait till Rachel starts to crawl. It seems like forever away.
ReplyDeleteOhhh, I'm sorry! I can't say I know how you feel but just be glad that you don't have to worry about babies falling down stairs or climbing up on things, falling off, bonking heads, etc. Lilly has a bruised noggin from all her many escapades.
