Great Family Outing. . . Northwest Trek Wildlife Park!

I still consider myself pretty new to the Pacific Northwest, since I've only lived here for less than 4 years. It's so fun being new to an area. . . there's just so many fun, new things to explore and do! We found a really awesome place last month called the Northwest Trek Wildlife Park.

It's a bit of a drive. . . pretty far south and on the way to Mount Rainier. And worth it! It was gorgeous there! Shady and cool with tons of forest, and all the animals in the park are native to the Pacific Northwest. It was small enough that we got to see everything in a few hours, and just a really good size for young kids. Nobody got too tired!

Check out all those nice trees!

There might not have been lions or tigers, but there were still some unique and fun animals. I thought this badger digging in the dirt was super cute!

And I loved the river otters!

One of the park employees had a cute little turtle, and Kirsten was pretty fascinated. She wanted to hold it.

Probably the coolest thing about the park was the tram ride around the beautiful natural habitat of the animals. When you enter the park they tell you what time to catch your tram, and you get to ride around for about an hour and just see all the animals roaming free through the terrain. It was fun, and also relaxing after walking around all the exhibits.

What animal wouldn't want to live here? Seriously. . .

We saw lots of reindeer from the tram. Great pair of antlers on that guy!

We also saw lots of mountain goats, sheep, and buffalo!

I highly recommend this park to anyone who wants an animal encounter that's different from a traditional zoo. We had such a great time there, and the kids loved it!

It's about time I had another jewelry giveaway on my blog! This one is so great. . . a $25 gift certificate to create a custom piece of your choice from RHB Designs' Etsy shop!

RHB Designs creates unique and beautiful handcrafted jewelry, and will customize it any way you'd like. For my review piece, I chose this beautiful hand-stamped "Live In the Moment" necklace. I love its unique shape and design, as well as the message it conveys. She can also create this same necklace for you with a different saying, or names!

The "Tiny Tags" necklace, customized with your children's names, is totally cute. I really like how easy it would be to add tags on for future children if you're not finished with your family!

I also love the shape of this Mommy necklace! All of the hand-stamped designs from RHB Designs are made out of sterling silver, and it doesn't fade or tarnish. They're all so pretty!

Fabulous Finds: the MetroWrap!

I have found my favorite baby carrier wrap, and I'm so thrilled about it! The MetroWrap from Metromamma is SO comfy and stylish at the same time! I carried Natalie in it a few times before I got pregnant, and I loved how it evenly distributed her weight across my back and shoulders. I'm going to use it tons for my new baby this winter!

Why the MetroWrap is the best carrier I've tried:
*The fabric is really gorgeous! I absolutely love the blinged-out designs on the back. It's also such stretchy, breathable, comfortable and lightweight fabric too.
*It comes in black, chocolate, or a really pretty sage green (mine is green!)
*It's so versatile, since you can use it for a newborn baby to a 38-pound baby! (That's what the website says. But gosh, my 3 year-old is 35 pounds and I certainly can't imagine carrying her around in it!)
*It's machine washable and super easy to clean with the rest of your baby's clothes.
*You have the option to have your baby facing toward you or away from you.
*It came with detailed photo instructions, or you can watch a video tutorial on their website about how to tie it on. I was able to easily figure it out after reading the instructions and looking at the pictures. I was surprised at how easy it was!

The price: The MetroWrap is available without the bling for $79.99 or with bling for $129.99. This is definitely worth it for a wrap that you will get a ton of use out of, especially if you're going to have more than one baby!

My disclaimer: I received a MetroWrap to review. I was not compensated, and all opinions are mine!

Crazy Dog T-Shirt Gift Card Giveaway!!!

Isn't this T-shirt just awesome? Any Office fan would definitely appreciate it, and that's why I chose it for my husband to review. He loves the shirt and gets some great reactions from others every time he wears it. His most common question is, "Where did you get that shirt?"

It came from Crazy Dog T-shirts, where they make shirts inspired by humor, movies and TV shows, novelty and vintage themes. These shirts are great quality, really soft and they don't shrink or fade in the wash!
Oh my gosh. . . I should get this one for my husband next. Completely awesome!

Crazy Dog T-shirts sells funny T-shirts for men, women, kids, and even dogs! And they're giving away a $15 gift card to one of my readers, which is pretty much a free shirt! Fabulous Finds!

Check out this beautiful Corelle dinnerware that's on sale right now at csn.com!
I think I have a weakness for blue dishes. . . my entire wedding set of dinnerware is blue, and I still love it. If I was in the market for new dinnerware, I'd totally order this set. I love the contemporary feel to the square shape, and it's $20 off right now, putting the whole set at $79.99!

Here's one of my favorite items to take with me when I'm traveling. . . the Cloth-n-Go bag from Kissaluvs! It's meant to be a cute little bag for quick diaper changes (and the inside is lined with laminate to retain wetness inside and not let it seep through the bag, so it would be perfect for a little diaper tote.) But I found another use for it. . . it's my favorite cute cosmetics bag for traveling! It's just the right size to hold all my makeup, and it's just adorable!

Another fabulous find that's perfect for back-to-school are these cute snack-ditties and wich-ditties from Ecoditty! Just think how much money you'll save if you use these to carry your child's snacks and sandwiches to school instead of plastic bags. It's super easy to wash them and use them over and over! They're made of 100% organic cotton, with hook and loop closures, and there are tons of cute fabric options.

Or, along the same lines, you can go with the also ultra-cute and stylish SnackTaxi!
I love so many of their fabric choices! Just like the ecoditty, they come in several sizes to fit all your snack and lunch needs. The SnackTaxi is lined with polyurethane coated nylon that has been tested to be lead and pthalate-free. I like the nylon coating, because it makes it very easy to just wipe the inside clean.

And last. . . how fabulous are these shoes? I'm kind of really wanting them! (Too bad I'd fall over in them if I tried to wear them now while I'm so pregnant!)
Must Have Shoes is such a great customizable online shoe boutique. I love all their search options. You can search by size, price, style, and most popular. And one of my favorite things? They offer free shipping on all orders to the US!
My disclaimer: I received products in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated, and all opinions are mine!

Brand New Baby Super-Giveaway!!!

This giveaway is not just for pregnant women or moms of new babies. If you're hoping to have a baby sometime in the future, or if you'd love to give a unique and beautiful gift to a friend or family member's baby, you should definitely enter!

Prize #1 is. . . a really beautiful baby book from Rag & Bone Boutique! This book has a $68 value! Such an awesome giveaway!!!

Of course, since I'm seven months pregnant, new babies are on my mind quite often. (I just can't believe I'm going to have a third baby so soon!) I was SO thrilled to receive the most gorgeous baby book I've ever seen from the Rag & Bone Boutique. This book is just stunning! It's a high-quality archival book, and I absolutely love their cover art. They have tons of beautiful designs to choose from, and the winner of the giveaway can pick their favorite design! Go here to check out the gorgeous options.

Why I'm so thrilled about this book:
*It's ribbon-bound, and everything about it just screams high-quality.
*I already mentioned this, but I'll say it again. . . I LOVE all the choices for the cover art.
*Each page is bright white, acid-free, and has a soft finish. The book contains 24 pages and they have fun themes like "How Mom and Dad Met" and "How We Picked Your Name." Just look at how pretty the pages are!

Here's another of the cover options I'm drooling over. I'm so excited to get to fill in my book for the new baby! (And hope my older two girls don't get jealous someday that their books aren't nearly as pretty as this one!)

For prize #2. . . Bumma's Baby Washcloths!
The winner of this one gets a set of 10 of these babies, and you get to pick which color set you want!

Why you'll love Bummas:
*They're totally eco-friendly! And really soft and absorbent.
*These have so many uses! They're such a great size, small and compact. I use mine in the tub and for diaper changes too. If you have a baby boy, these would be perfect little cover-ups so you don't get squirted in the face!
*They're really durable. You can wash them a whole ton of times and they don't shrink, pill, or fade.

Prize #3. . . A onesie of your choice from Do-Dah Doodles!
These soft, cuddly baby outfits are totally sweet and unique. They imprint cute drawings onto high-quality onesies, tshirts, and infant gowns. I chose this fun little panda onesie for Natalie:

All of their fabrics are 100% cotton and pre-shrunk. And they're SO soft and durable!
The winner can choose any design, style, and size they want! Sizes range from Preemie to 24 months. I love the animal designs, and they also have some really fun seasonal drawings. I'd love to have this one put on a newborn-sized onesie for my Halloween baby I'll be having! :)

Fun Finds for Kids!

Me and Kirsten are both totally enamored with this. . . the Flipper Toothbrush Holder!
We got a giraffe one to review, and it's just so much cooler than I thought it would be. The cute animal suctions to the bathroom mirror, you open up its tummy and insert a toothbrush head, and it automatically snaps closed! Then when you're ready to brush again, you just pull the toothbrush handle towards you and the Flipper pops right open again. It's such a cool little device, I want one for my own toothbrush too!

Other cool things about the Flipper:
*It keeps your toothbrush away from germs, and has little side vents that allow in enough air flow for bristles to stay clean and dry.
*It converts into a travel case that you can store your toothbrush in when you travel.
*They come in so many cute designs, even Hello Kitties!
*Great price. . . $5.49 to $6.99 each!

Our favorite thing on our recent camping trip was. . . the Sleep Sheep that I got from Vat 19. Vat 19 has unique and unusual gift ideas for everyone imaginable (including a 5-pound gummy bear. No joke! They really do have one!) It's such a fun website to look around.

Why the Sleep Sheep is perfect for traveling:
*It's a portable, cuddly sound machine! There's a sound box built into it that includes four soothing sounds and two different sleep timer options. It helps my 3 year-old to sleep when we're away from the sound machine she normally uses at home.
*It attaches easily to a crib or stroller with velcro.
*It has a volume control button, so you can adjust it to the level you want.
*This is definitely something you could use for a baby, and it would grow really well with your child. You can even remove the sound box if your child grows too old for it and still wants the sheep as a stuffed animal.
*$24.95 is the price. Pretty much the same as a regular stuffed animal of the same size, but this one includes the sound machine!

A fun toy we got to review lately is the Sid the Science Kid Gotta Know Microphone from Playskool and Hasbro. This toy definitely appeals to kids of a lot of different ages. My girls actually fight over who gets to play with it, and one is 3 and one is 15 months.

The fun stuff about it:
*It has different buttons you can push to make the microphone do different things, unlike most toy microphones. My kids' favorite is the "Echo mode" button, where they can hear their voices echo over and over.
*One button plays the Sid the Science Kid theme song. My kids have never seen the show before, but they still like the catchy song. Kids who are fans of the show would like it even more.
*The retail price of $15 is pretty good, and would be even better if you could combine it with sales or coupons.

My only complaint:
I really wish it had volume control. This thing is loud!
Another great recent find is. . . Piggy Paint! If you have little girls, you're going to love this. It's all-natural, non-toxic nail polish, safe for use on the littlest toes.

The great stuff about Piggy Paint:
*It's totally odorless. This is my favorite thing about it. . . no nasty nail polish fumes!
*It's hypoallergenic and made from a water-based formula.
*Comes in a whole bunch of pretty colors!

They also have a really great all-natural nail polish remover. Even without the nail polish remover, the Piggy Paint does come easily off walls and other surfaces. I know this because Kirsten got ahold of one of the Piggy Paint tubes one day and started painting the walls and bathroom counters. Luckily, I caught her while it was still wet and was able to easily remove it all with water. Whew!

The price: $8.99 for each color, and the same price for the remover. They also sell gift sets!

My Disclaimer: I received products to review from each of these companies. I was not compensated, and all opinions are mine!

Adorable Etsy Finds. . . Graphic Spaces!

I am just dying to decorate my kids' room with this Woodland Happy Tree Vinyl Wall Art Decal Sticker from Graphic Spaces. Isn't it just too cute?

Graphic Spaces makes happy wall art decals for kids, and they definitely do make me smile. They have a whole collection of woodland critters that you can put in and around the tree decal to make an entire forest.

All their artwork is just so adorable! And they'll personalize the decals for you, too. When I'm living in a house I want to be in for a long time (the decals are removable, but not reusable), I think I'll invest in a whole bunch of these decals and make truly adorable rooms for my kids.
My disclaimer: I received a small sample to review. I was not compensated, and all opinions are my own!

Adorable Etsy Shop. . . Sunshine and Spice Giveaway!!!

My best friend Carrie is so talented at sewing. I envy her skills! Over the years she has made me so many awesome things including a wedding quilt, baby quilt, pajamas, and outfits for my little girls. The quality is always so wonderful! So I was thrilled when she decided to open her own Etsy shop! Sunshine and Spice is brand new, and full of some adorable handmade outfits for little girls that come complete with matching pants, top, and hair flower!

Here's my Natalie stylin' in the Little Girl's Spicy Ruffle outfit! I get SO many compliments every time she wears it! Just look at all the cute details, like the pockets and the ruffles on the pants!

Carrie loves to do custom orders, and she has outfits ranging in size from newborn to 3T. Everything is pre-washed so it won't shrink, and the outfits hold up perfectly in the washer and dryer. Mine hasn't faded at all!
I love the hair flower. It's mounted on an alligator clip, so it can be worn directly in the hair or attached to a headband or beanie.

There are lots of different styles of boutique outfits for your baby or toddler. One of my favorites is this one. . . the Niyah Polka Dottie. I just love the pink and brown polka dots combo! Her prices range according to which size you need, and you can also buy individual hair flowers, socks, burp cloths, or other cute things.

Carrie is offering an awesome giveaway to my readers to celebrate the opening of her shop. . .
The winner gets ANY complete outfit of your choice!!!
You pick the size, the design, everything! Even if you don't have a little girl of your own, enter to win it as a gift for a friend!

Summertime and Swimsuits!

This summer, we have definitely gotten more use out of the kids' swimsuits than ever before. Kirsten loves being in her swimsuit, and asks every day to go swimming. I don't think she really cares whether it's playing at the splash park, in the sprinklers, in the little plastic pool, or going to a lake. She just wants to get wet!

At Stephen's work picnic last month, we had a really fun time at Vasa Park, on the shores of Lake Sammamish.

There's a really great swimming area roped off on the beach, lifeguards on duty, a changing area, and even some water slides that Kirsten will love when she's older and more confident in the water.

Beaches at lakes is a whole new thing to me! I never swam in a lake until I was a teenager. In southern California, we always swam in the ocean or swimming pools. Lakes are so perfect for kids to swim in, since they're so gentle and calm.

Natalie is harder to predict at the beach. Sometimes she loves the water, and wants to crawl right in and splash around. Other times she just crawls around in the sand and cries to be picked up.

This has been the summer of swimsuits, but (sadly) not swimming lessons. I've been trying to get Kirsten signed up for lessons, but the online registration is always full two seconds after they get the new schedule up. I don't know how people get their kids in! So I'll have to discover the secret next year.

Kirsten is very confident in the water if it's at a lake. She'll go right in (even if she's wearing clothes!) and walk so deep we have to tell her to turn around and come back. But if we're at a public swimming pool, crowded with a whole bunch of kids, forget about it! She clings to our necks and won't let go for anything.

One of our favorite places to go is the splash park close to our house. They have a really fun water play area, and the park is small so it doesn't get overly crowded. Kirsten has so much fun finding a stick and taking it with her into the water. (Kinda strange, but she loves it!)

It's such a fun way to beat the heat! Not that we've had a hot summer, by any means. But on warm days we love heading to the splash park!

Sometimes Natalie surprises me and goes right into the water, in her clothes!

Here are the two of them, "walking" together. Natalie still won't walk by herself. She just walks around on her knees like that, and it looks so funny. I don't know how to make her realize that it's actually harder to walk on your knees than on your feet!

We're really enjoying our summer of swimsuits and splashing! Last summer it felt like we were much more confined, since Natalie was such a young baby. It's been really nice to get outside so much and enjoy the freedom of the summer and the sunshine!

And I'm so glad we actually got our money's worth out of the swimsuits this year. :)

Safe and Clean Super-Giveaway!!!

I've been working on this one for awhile. . . the Safe and Clean Super-Giveaway!!! With a whole lineup of great stuff you can win that will help you to live a safer or cleaner life!
I got to review both of these kits, and I'm so impressed by how easy they are to use and all the useful stuff they contain.

Why they're so great:
*These kits contain injury-specific packs that have all the necessary supplies and instructions needed to manage the most common injuries. The Safe at Home kit includes the Bleeding Pack, Bone Pack, Bites and Stings Pack, and Basics Pack. It makes it really easy to find exactly what you need.
*A full-color guidebook covers hundreds of medical emergencies, and it's designed for anyone to be able to easily and quickly read so you can act in an instant.
*The Safe Traveler Kit is designed to be kept in your car, so you'll always have access to first aid. We take it on camping trips as well (although luckily we've never had to use it yet!)
*The cases are lightweight nylon, and completely water-resistant.
*One of my favorite features. . . you can easily order extra Care Packs or replacement Care Packs.
*They were a "Best Buy In Safety" in Good Housekeeping Magazine and also received an iParenting award in 2005.

The price: $39.99 for each kit. Well worth it! The winner of this Intelligent First Aid Kit will get to choose either a Safe At Home Kit or Safe Traveler Kit.

#2. . . A ZeroWater Pitcher!

Why it's awesome:
*ZeroWater is the only filtered water from a pitcher that meets the FDA definition for purified bottled water. They use completely different technology than Brita and other water pitchers to accomplish this. Pretty cool!
*The pitcher comes with a filter and a TDS meter that lets you know when your filter needs to be replaced.
*You can buy it at Target!
*I love the in-fridge push button dispenser, so you don't have to take the pitcher out of the fridge every time you want to use it.

The price: $35. You can imagine how much money this will save you over time as opposed to buying bottled water!
#3. . . A Zapi Toothbrush Sanitizer from Violight!

This is the perfect bathroom accessory for the germaphobe in your life. :)

What's cool about it:
*The Zapi uses germicidal ultraviolet light to kill all the germs on your toothbrush in minutes!
*It's really easy to use. You just insert any toothbrush, press the button, and it shuts itself off when it's done.
*It comes in five different colors and really does look cute sitting on your bathroom counter.
*Oprah picked it as a best gift for the holidays in O magazine!

The price: $30 gets you one. It's your choice whether germ-free peace of mind is worth $30. :)

If you win the Zapi, you get any color of your choice!
#4. . . An Original Soap Trio from the Eco-Luxury Collection at Carved Solutions!

Carved Solutions makes custom-carved Vermont made soaps and quality gift sets. Here's why you'll want to win one of these beautiful soap sets:

*They will custom carve any personalization you want! They really do individually carve the bars. Monograms, initials, names, wedding dates, the sky is the limit! It makes them perfect for gifts.
*The Aqua Mineral fragrance is very mild and nice, and the creamy color goes with any bathroom decor.
*The Eco-Luxury line is perfect for people with skin allergies or sensitive skin. The bars are vegetable-based and triple milled.
*The soap trio comes in a really pretty box that is gift-ready and made of 100% recycled materials.

The price: $30 for an Original Soap Trio. If you are the winner of the soaps, you can choose any personalization you would like!

#5: Boogie Wipes! Winner gets a set of 2 30-count wipes.

I really have come to love these little packs of Boogie Wipes ever since I received my own package to review. They are so perfect for protecting tender little noses that have colds. Here's why you'll love them too:

*They're made with saline to dissolve mucus and boogies.
*They're recommended by pediatricians, and they're super soft!
*Four different scents are available (kids seem to especially love the grape scent), and they're alcohol, pthlate, and paraben-free.
*They're really soothing and prevent red and chapped little noses.
*You can buy them from a ton of your regular retailers!
5 awesome things you could win!
