Have a Happy Super Bowl Day!

So tell me. . . who planned to have our stake conference be on the same day as Superbowl Sunday? Someone very smart, I guess! :)

I don't really care who wins the game. Stephen's Uncle Andy is a die-hard Steelers fan, and I wish he could come over because it's fun to have someone rooting hard for a particular team. But he lives in Utah, so I don't think he'll show up at our house.
I'm having a fun time planning the food though! Here's what I plan to serve. . .

These Sliders with Chipotle Mayonnaise. I really hope I can find mini burger buns at the store, otherwise they'll just have to be regular burgers, which isn't nearly as cute. Find the recipe here.
My favorite Caramel Apple Dip is by Marzetti. It's so thick and yummy! I'll have green apple slices with a tub of this stuff.

Stephen is making his famous guacamole, or as our friends dubbed it, "Stephen-guac."

And I'm going to make the OH-so-unhealthy but way too good Velveeta Salsa Cheese dip. I can just taste the fatty goodness already!

I wish I was motivated enough to spend the time making these hand-made soft pretzels. Don't they look delicious?

Will you be watching the game? What food will you be serving?

  1. Yum! I'm coming to your house. I love the mini burgers.

I think my Mom-in-law is planning Mexican. I'm making salsa and a baked spicy buffalo cheese dip which I've never made before. And she's making her famous chili verde and I don't know what else. The best part of the Superbowl is the commercials and the food, am I right? I'll probably be catching up on blogging during the rest of it. But I still have to say Go Cards!!

  3. Not watching. I actually forgot about it! I *love* having a husband who isn't a sports fanatic. Though we'll probably watch the special episode of the Office that's on afterward!!

This stuff looks great!!! Have fun!

  6. OHHHH!!! What a yummy party, wish I could've been at your house!!! We watched it at Danny's parents house while my bro-in-law Ben stood about 4 inches from the TV the whole time. His cousin plays for the Cardinals (Lutui). We left before the game ended, but I guarantee, he cried! It was a fun party, even though I really don't care for football. I brought chocolate covered strawberries and they were a hit. :)

  7. Looks good Ash! You probably heard from your parents that we only had Sacrament meeting because the toilets were all jammed at our building. Yuck! It was kind of funny though because if they hadn't been, Sunday School and Priesthood/Relief Society would have gone through the first half of the game. Hmmmm...I smell sabatage. :)
So anyway, we all got out of church by 2:40 or so but I still didn't watch the game. I just didn't care enough about either of the teams. Maybe next year.

  10. Looks like you had a great party! I made rice crispy treats and we went to a party. But your party looks like it had better food- with you as the host! You always have been a good party host. I miss your Halloween dinners even still.

I don't watch much football, but I have to admit that I was rooting for the Cardinals. It's ok though. I really go the parties for the food and commercials anyway!
