The Safe Baby Super-Giveaway!!!

As moms of new babies or young toddlers, you know we're all concerned with the same thing. . . making sure they stay safe. Which is really an almost-impossible task, but we do what we can! With the whole barrage of info lately about toy and crib recalls, lead paint risks, plastic bottle risks (and you know the list goes ON and on and on), what's a mom got to do just to get some peace of mind???

I've got three companies to talk about that are all doing their part to provide cool, fun baby products that are 100% safe for children. . . and they're all giving away products to my readers!!! This is such an awesome giveaway, because you have the chance of winning one of any three items!

Here we go with giveaway number one. . .

The Soft Landing store is dedicated to helping answer parents' questions about whether or not plastic bottles are safe for their babies. The answer is YES, as long as the bottles are the right kind. The Soft Landing offers a really amazing selection of 45 different brands of BPA-free, PVC-free, Phthalate-free products in one convenient place!
Not only are all their products completely safe, they're also pretty darn stylish! I love this Boon Grass Countertop Drying Rack that they sell.

And this awesome kid's silverware set makes me smile. I can just imagine how much a kid would love it!

The toy that I received from them for Natalie is the Dandelion Organic Toy Duck Rattle and Teether. This is SO cute and cuddly-soft, and would be perfect for a newborn! Older babies like it too, because Natalie is 10 months old and she still loves to carry it around and chew on it. The Dandelion Duck has a squeaky belly, hands that crinkle, and textured feet. It's made of organic cotton velour and filled with soft corn fibers. I love the little hanging loop on the top, so I can attach a link to it and hang it over the car seat!

The Dandelion Duck Toy sells for $10, and The Soft Landing has generously offered to give one away! Details for how to enter are at the end of this post.
Giveaway item #2 is. . .

The Safe Sippy!

Kid Basix makes a variety of safe, non-toxic products for kids of all ages. The Safe Sippy is made of stainless steel! Kirsten has all kinds of sippy cups (mostly decorated with cartoon characters) and this just looks like the trendy mother of all her sippy cups. :) It's so sleek and cool-looking! The Safe Sippy is non-leaching and toxin-free, and the stainless steel is also very lightweight. Just look how pretty it is!

The Safe Sippy is also dishwasher-safe, and insulated with a thermo-plastic rubber sleeve. The sleeve keeps drinks warmer or color longer, and makes it easier to hold. The straw-shaped spout and cap are made of BPA-free plastic.

The cup that I received is actually the newer model, the Safe Sippy 2. It has all the same features as the original, but with some added perks:
*The straw and straw adapter change the sippy cup into a straw bottle when your child decides they're ready to drink from a straw! It's so cool to be able to switch it out like that and not spend money on a whole new bottle. This is my favorite feature!
*It comes with a travel plug, making it completely leak-proof when you carry it around in your bag!
*The dust cap is also really nice when you're out and about with your cup.

The Safe Sippy 2 sells for $14.95, and you can win one in your color of choice!!! Details for entries are at the bottom of this post.
And last we have. . .

Tooth Tissues!
These are just so cool! Tooth Tissues are disposable textured dental wipes specially designed to help remove plaque from your baby and toddler's teeth and gums. They're formulated with xylitol, a natural cavity fighter, and are also 99% natural, fluoride and paraben-free. They were invented by two dentists for their kids. These are so great to use to wipe Natalie's new little teeth after she's done eating or drinking from her bottle, and I sometimes use them on my toddler's teeth when we're out and don't have a toothbrush with us. You can even use them on your own teeth when you can't brush! These things are pretty genius!

You can buy them online at Toys R Us, Target, or Amazon.com in various sizes. And you can enter to win your own pack of Tooth Tissues to try out yourself!

Alright, time to enter the Safe Baby Super-Giveaway!!! I will have THREE winners! When you enter this one, you might win one of three prizes:

1. The Dandelion Organic Duck Teether Toy from The Soft Landing
2. Safe Sippy 2 Cup
3. Package of Tooth Tissues

  1. What concerns me most is that there is so much info to keep track of with new safety issues being discovered all the time. I would be most excited to win the Tooth Tissues. Good dental hygiene starts young!

  6. For me, definitely it is the fact that known endocrine disrupters are included in products and there is no requirement in the US that they be labeled.

  7. Hey, great prizes! What concerns me most is that so many baby items are made outside the US, where safety standards are not that great. Just look at all the issues with lead paint used on toys.

  8. Sorry...forgot to mention that I'd love the Sippie cup, as my littlest is not wanting to give up her bottle.

  12. I avoid BPA by using glass or stainless steel wherever possible. What concerns me is what is going to be used to replace BPA. At one time, polycarbonate water bottles were the thing to use, now they're know to leach BPA. What's next???

  13. My biggest concern is that it feels like nothing is above suspicion. Thanks to The Soft Landing, I have found awesome stuff that I can feel good about giving my baby and kids. I have become a zealot! I am a fan of you both on facebook. Keep up the good work.

  16. I just discovered your blog via The Soft Landing, and so far I love it.! :-)

My biggest concern about baby/children's products is how little we really know about what's in them and how they're made. Just because something is labeled BPA free doesn't mean there aren't other toxic ingredients. That's one of the reasons I love the Soft Landing - they do a lot of the homework for me, so I can spend more time enjoying my little one.

I would love the Safe Sippy - I've been eyeing them for a while now! :-)

  49. I would love to win the sippy cup! I am truly concerned with the chemical and excito-toxin filled formulas that they push parents to use.... my baby was preemie and they told me I had to give it to him or else... but I stopped it as soon as he got home and he is healthy as ever!

  77. What concerns me is that most of our products are made in other countries where the standards are not the same as they are here in the U.S. or that they don't follow the standards. We really don't know what they are using to make the products resulting in lots of toxins/chemicals being put into our children's hands/bodies.
