You know what's really, REALLY hard to do?
Get the house clean while little kids are around.
As a mom of babies and toddlers, I feel like your house is kind of doomed. You can of course clean the fastest and the best while your kids are sleeping. But who wants to waste precious nap time cleaning? You can tackle a small area while the kids are playing. But of course laughter could at any moment turn into tears, and it's awful to leave the small area half-done. At our house cleaning usually gets relegated to the weekends. And again, who wants to waste precious weekends cleaning?
One tip I've found that really does make me feel better about cleaning house while the kids are up and about is this:
Use all-natural, non-toxic cleaning products.
At least this way you'll have peace of mind, knowing that your little ones won't be breathing in any toxic chemicals and fumes. One great line I got to try out recently is the Simple Green Naturals line.
Here's why I love them:
*Their products are 100% derived from nature. They contain ingredients like: chicory, coconut, corn, palm, naturally occurring minerals, salt, sugar, and water. And that's it!
*They get the job done! Really, they do! No streaks, no crazy awful fumes, and a nice clean surface.
*No animal testing, and they're totally non-toxic and safe for kids and pets.
*They're packaged in 100% recyclable plastic bottles printed with soy inks.
*They don't contain any ammonia or bleach. And they are non-flammable and non-abrasive!
*They are really affordable! You can get the entire Simple Green Naturals Cleaning Kit for $24.99!

You can also win a Simple Green Naturals Cleaning Kit for FREE from my blog! Yes, my friends, they're giving away a whole set like the one I got and I'm sure you will love them as much as I do!
The Simple Green Naturals Cleaning Kit includes the following:
*1 32-oz bottle of Multi-Surface Care
*1 24-oz bottle of Bathroom Cleaner
*1 24-oz bottle of Carpet Care (I use this one ALL the time, whenever my cats get hairballs or my kids make messes on the carpet. It works wonders!)
*1 32-oz bottle of Glass and Surface Care
*1 16-oz bottle of Dishwashing Liquid
*1 16-oz bottle of Liquid Hand Soap
Details on how easy it is to enter are at the bottom of this post.
Of course, to go along with your all-natural, non-toxic Cleaning Kit you will also need some reusable, earth-friendly Cleaning Cloths! Meet my new cleaning friend. . . the Skoy Cloth!
Why I love my Skoy Cloths:
*These cloths can be re-used over and over, and they hold up really well to being washed in the dishwasher or the washer/dryer.
*The Skoy Cloths have an absorption factor of 15 times its own weight!
*There's nothing I hate more than old sponges that stink up the whole kitchen. Skoy Cloths dry really quickly, so they're not a breeding ground for bacteria. They can be microwaved to dry even faster!
*Each one is made in Europe, and is 100% biodegradable because it's made from a natural cotton and wood-based cellulose pulp. It's also chlorine-free, as only water-based colors and inks are used on them.
*It can be used in your kitchen, bathroom, or really anywhere else, and can replace paper towels, sponges, and washcloths.
*They're so bright and fun! I love the colors and patterns!

ReplyDeleteI'd love to win this one because I have two kids that seriously lick my walls... literally. I definitely need to go more green!
ReplyDeleteI have already been going the "all-natural" way with cleaning products as I run out of the ones I have on hand - I've been switching to Method and Bio-life products (have 2 so far as well as natural laundry detergent for my cloth diapers/baby clothes)... That's why I love this! It's impossible to keep a toddler out of the bathroom while you're cleaning it - I would prefer the least toxic materials on hand for that reason. I also very sorry for the earth, with all the junk we're putting into it! Anyway I can help is good.

ReplyDeleteI love using natural cleaners, they leave my house smelling so much better than chemicals. And it just *feels* cleaner. I often make my own cleaners, but sometimes just don't have time or the energy. So it's nice to be able to purchase natural cleaners :)

ReplyDeleteEver since Christina was born, I've been incorporating more natural cleaning products. Right now, my all-purpose cleaner is simply a 1:1 ratio of distilled white vinegar and water. I put it in an old spray bottle, and I use it everywhere. The only downside is, it leaves a bit of a vinegar smell until it dries. I'd love to check out the Simple Green products and see how they work!
