Tuesday Top Ten!

Welcome to the first edition of Tuesday Top Ten! I'm about to reveal. . . (drumroll please). . . my Top Ten Christmas Albums!

#1- The Carpenters Christmas Portrait- I adore this album! I think it has so much variety in it and I just love their arrangements of all these wonderful songs.
Best songs: Hard to choose, but I'd have to say 'Merry Christmas Darling' and 'Christmas Waltz'
#2- Let It Snow! by Michael Buble- I don't actually own this album (it's too short, only 6 songs!) but I have downloaded all these songs and love each one! His voice is perfect for Christmas music.
Best song: All of them!
#3- The Christmas Collection by Frank Sinatra- Classic! I love Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole's songs as well, but if I'm going to listen to a whole album by any one of them I'll choose Frank Sinatra any day.

#4- Noel by Josh Groban- I was looking forward to this Christmas album long before it came out. I love his voice!
Best song: Little Drummer Boy

#5- The Muppet Christmas Carol Soundtrack- These are just the cutest Christmas songs! It makes me happy to listen to them.
Best songs: One More Sleep 'Til Christmas, It Feels Like Christmas, and Bless Us All

#6- The Christmas Collection by Amy Grant- Her Christmas songs are all SO well-done. Nobody ever listens to her 80's music anymore, but at Christmastime she's all over the radio, and with good reason!
Best songs: A Christmas To Remember, It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, and Breath of Heaven (that one gives me tingles all over! It's so beautiful!)
#7- Wintersong by Sarah McLachlan- This is just a gorgeous album!
Best songs: I'll Be Home For Christmas and Happy Xmas (War Is Over)

#8- Christmas Is. . . by Percy Faith and His Orchestra- I've been listening to this album ever since I was old enough to know what Christmas is. Listening to it brings me right back to decorating the tree with my family. I love every song!
Best songs: Christmas Is and White Christmas

#9- The Christmas Collection by Il Divo- Their Christmas songs are soooooo unbelievably beautiful. Their version of O Holy Night especially is the best I've ever heard!
Best songs: O Holy Night, When a Child Is Born, and White Christmas

#10- The Wonder of Christmas by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir- It's hard to pick just one of their Christmas albums to include on this list, but I think this is the one I listen to the most often. I love the songs!
Best songs: The First Noel, Winter Wonderland, Carol of the Bells, and Sleigh Ride

Bonus- A Fresh Aire Christmas by Mannheim Steamroller- Out of all their albums, this one has got to be my favorite!
Best songs: O Come O Come Emmanuel, Greensleeves, and O Holy Night

I think I'm going to have to go put one of these on right now! I love Christmas music SO much. Which albums have I left out? I'd love to hear your favorite Christmas albums too!

  1. I'm getting a few of your suggested songs right now!! I love Martina McBride and Hilary Week's albums. And you were right on with the Mannheim Steamroller. Love this list and I'm looking forward to more Top Ten's!

  2. hey vote for Shaila

  3. I'm listening to your awesome Christmas cd you sent us last year right now and I love it! A lot of those songs are on it and they are so great. If you can believe it, other than the one you made me...I have NOT ONE Christmas CD!

  4. You should just send all those over my way! I love all of these, except maybe Josh Groban. i don't know why I don't like him. I just can't bring myself to jump on that bandwagon. Maybe when he's 90 years old, and he's not so famous anymore.
I also love Kurt Bestor, can't be Christmas without him, and Jim Brickman, and George Winston (all piano artist--go figure)

  5. transiberan orchestra! if you like mannheim, you'll like them. i also love lonestar christmas, but i'm a sucker for country music.

also, you must have great taste in music because i LOVE all the rat pack style music, so your frank and michael cds made my list as well!

  6. what a perfect collection! i wish i had all of those!

harry connick jr.'s christmas albums are probably my most favorite.

  7. Oh my Gosh, just how old/young are you Miss Ashley. You listed many of my favorites. And I am a Grannie!
The Carpenters are fabulous and I so enjoyed her and was so sad with her death. Frankie is always associated with Christmas music.
Michael Buble is fabulous, we love Amy Grant and I adore the Christmas Collection by Il Divo. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is awesome with everything they sing. We love the devotional each year and most years attend.
I also love the forgotten carols.
I think I am going to go in and play some wonderful Christmas Music.

    Merry Christmas!

  8. I love my some Christmas tunes! One of the radio stations in town is playing all Christmas all the time--woo whoo!! Anyways, I'm currently loving Harry Conick Jr.'s newest Christmas album, and of course I LOVE Michael Buble. I'll have to check out some of these other ones--we're going to decorate our tree this week (sometime! hopefully! we've been putting it off!) and we'll need some festive music.

  9. Good call on all of those! El loves Mickey Christmas right now...so I'm stuck with that. LOL!

  10. LOVE IT!@!!! THANKS!!!

Ask and ye shall recieve! FUNNY, go read my blog today!!!

  11. I have 2 of Amy Grant's, didn't know she had a new one. I also love Harry Connick Jr - probably his first one, more than the 2nd, and haven't heard his new one. Also, Carpenters have to be my favorite though.

  12. You should check out Jim Brickman also. I have his Christmas Album entitled Peace. I love it!! His mostly instrumental (piano) but there some that he has people singing to. I like your choices. Merry Christmas!!

  13. So, I don't have a single one of those albums! I am going to have to look for some of them.

  14. Tbose are some great albums, but no Bing? He's my favorite. Plus, Harry Connick is awesome.
