I'm Having. . .

A Girl!

Kirsten is going to have a sister! I told her she's SO lucky, because I have always wanted a sister and never got one. So I'm really glad that I can give Kirsten a sister. I hope they're good friends! The lady who did my ultrasound was telling me about her little girls and how they're best friends and just adore each other. It was making me really excited to have two little girls! Bring on the matching outfits! :)
*The baby is looking healthy and great, and they actually moved my due date up a few days to April 15'th! These are a couple of ultrasound pictures of the baby's profile.

*I felt like this baby was going to be a boy, and most other people guessed a boy as well! We were all wrong. When I first heard that this one was another girl I said, "Really?" just because I thought I was so sure it was a boy! This is why I'm really glad I find out the baby's gender as soon as I can, and not wait for the birth. I would have kept on thinking it was a boy all the way up until SHE was born, and then it would have been tough to adjust my thinking!

*I won't have to buy very much! Since this baby will be born in the same season as Kirsten, they'll be in the same sizes at the right seasons and she can wear all of Kirsten's outfits!

*I definitely have been feeling much better lately! I love the second trimester! I still have a very strong gag reflex in the mornings, but it's SO much better than it was. I've also started feeling the baby move a little bit when I'm in bed at night!

  9. That's really cool. My girls are BFF even though they are 9 and 5 and have only been sisters for a year and a half.
I too always wanted a sister. But instead life brought me my BFF Carrie.

    Congrats.

  11. Congratulations! I have four wonderful sisters and love everyone of them. My daughter Natalie never got a sister and I have always felt bad my body gave out before my longing to give her a sister did. She does have three sister in laws now in our family, (well almost) and five on her husbands side. But that still isn't the same... Kirsten is so lucky..Sisters are the BEST!

  13. Congrats! That's so exciting! I have two sisters, and although we weren't always perfect friends growing up, they are two of my closest friends now. I'm so grateful for them in my life, and I'm sure your girls (despite the ups and downs) will feel that way as well!

  14. Congratulations, Ashley! With our third, I was just positive that we were having a girl, and then he turned out to be a boy on the ultrasound. I had to work not to cry a little when I found out, but got used to the idea pretty quickly. Glad you're going to have two little girls to play dress-up with... you'll have to do it for me, too, since I don't get to do that with my boys!

  17. Congratulations!!! That's really exciting. My doctor told me my son was suppose to be a girl but until he told me that I was pretty sure he was a boy. Guess what!! I was right he came out a boy. My mom looked at him and said, that's not a girl. And the doctor asked if he had said it was a girl. And then said Damn Doctors. What can you do? But good luck!!!

  21. And I am so glad that she looks healthly and that you are feeling better! Hopefully you will continue to feel better! Are you less sick with #2 than you were with Kirsten?

  22. YAY!!! I never had a sister either, so I get your excitement about that. And speaking as one with two boys......they are best friends. Same gender is great when they're so close in age! And the recycling clothes thing really comes in handy.

    Congrats!!!

  23. Wow! Were we off! And yeah - it's great to adjust to the different gender before. I did this same thing with Cindrella, and isn't it hard? I *wanted* a girl, thought for sure it would be a boy, and then when I found out she was who she was, it was SOOOO weird! I was glad, but it was a funny feeling.
I'm so glad Kirsten will have a little sister. Those matching dresses will be Awesome!!!

  24. We're really close! I realized after I left that post and started looking through the rest of your blog.

I'm due April 29th and will hopefully find out what it is next Tuesday. My husband and I are very excited, this will be our first.

Cool blog by the way. Seems like you keep in touch with so many people through it!

  25. HOW EXCITING! I had 3 girls first before I had 2 sons. I was happy with everyone one of them! It's so fun to dress the girls in coordinating outfits!

  26. That is so exciting! Congratulations. Girls stuff is so much cuter than boy stuff. It's probably a good thing I have boys or I'd go broke! I guess I should wait to say that, we still have to figure out what this one is going to be...only a couple more weeks to go. If it's a girl, daddy better hide the credit cards cause I'll be tempted to go berzerk!

P.S. Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment - it's been a long while since I've left you one, but I do enjoy visiting your blog and keeping up on your cute little family. Merry Christmas :)
