Fun Finds: Faber-Castell Artivity Giveaway!
Faber-Castell has a really beautiful new line of Coloring and Artivity Books out! They have 18 different themes available, some more simple books for younger kids and some with more complicated designs for older kids. I chose this Beautiful Butterflies-themed book to review for Kirsten:
Confession: It's so pretty I won't let her use it yet! Her coloring is pretty limited to scribbling right now, so I'd just rather save such beautiful designs as this book has for when she's older and can truly appreciate the designs and color them artfully. The butterflies book has 24 pages of high-quality watercolor paper. It has all different activities, like create your own butterflies, games and puzzles, paper crafts, and mix and match pages. It's really a sophisticated coloring book that would encourage kids to become little artists!
Faber-Castell is offering a whole little artist's giveaway! The winner gets to choose whichever Coloring and Artivity book they like the best, and will also receive a 12-pack of Jumbo Triangular Crayons and a 12-pack of Jumbo Triangular Colored EcoPencils. I received the crayons and colored pencils as well, and the quality is so wonderful! We love them!
Here's how to enter:*Visit Faber-Castell here to check out all their different fun themes for the Coloring and Artivity Books. Then leave me a comment on this post telling me which book you like the best!

Fun Finds: My Wonderful Walls!
I found some of the most adorable kids wall art I've ever seen at My Wonderful Walls! I got a wall mural just like this one, personalized with Natalie's name and it looks SO precious on her bedroom wall.
It came out of the box ready to hang, with the canvas stretched and gallery-wrapped so you don't need to frame it. The quality is so awesome! My Wonderful Walls offers really unique designs in all kinds of sizes and colors. The one I got sells for $45, with a $5 extra charge if you want it personalized. I'd love to buy some more to decorate the other walls in her room. . . this one has a real working clock built into it! Such a smart idea!

I haven't tried their wall stencils, but you can purchase a kit and paint a mural like this one for your child's bedroom. SO cute! It makes you look like an artist, even if you're really not. :) I should attempt something like this for my kids' rooms someday!

Fun Finds: PopATot!
This is such an awesome way to keep your baby safe in one place, whether you're indoors or outdoors! The PopATot Portable Activity Center allows babies to stand up and play, with a full view of everything going on, but makes a really sturdy and safe place to put them.
Why I love it:*It's perfect for traveling, since it folds easily and fits inside a small case. (I always struggle with folding stuff, and trust me, this one is a snap to fold!)
*There are toy loops on the top, so you can attach links and a whole bunch of toys to keep your baby happy while you get other stuff done!
*The built-in floor cover lets you put it on top of dirt or rocks and it keeps your baby's feet clean and protected.
*There seriously are endless uses for the PopATot. . . it's the perfect camping companion, you can use it at the park, the beach, or your front lawn or backyard. It's also a great place to put your baby while you shower, vacuum, or cook dinner in the kitchen.
*It's really durable and sturdy! The floor cover can be machine-washed and the rest can be scrubbed down with soap and water.
Natalie is getting too old for it now, since she always wants to crawl around and be moving, but I will be using it plenty when I have my new baby in the fall and she gets old enough to hold her head up!The price:
The PopATot is a really nice deal, at $49.99 with free shipping. This would make such an awesome and unique baby shower gift that any mom would really appreciate!

One CRAZY Weekend!!!
Once upon a time. . . (oh, around 4'th of July weekend), we got really crazy and decided to see what would happen if we completely destroyed all nap and bedtime schedules for three days and took the kids with us to have all kinds of FUN.
And you know what? It turned out much better than I thought it would! We actually did have an enjoyable, memorable weekend!
And you know what? It turned out much better than I thought it would! We actually did have an enjoyable, memorable weekend!
I had tickets to go here on July 3'rd:
The Gorge ampitheater! Despite being in the middle of the state of Washington, close to absolutely nothing, it's by far the coolest amphitheater I have ever been to in my life. You just can't beat the stunning scenery in the background, and I love being able to spread a blanket out on the lawn and just relax and hear some awesome music. I scored an amazing deal on cheap tickets to Lilith Fair that I was so thrilled about, but because of some last-minute scheduling changes I ended up with nobody who could go with me.
So. . . I told Stephen we're packing up the kids and our whole family is going to Lilith Fair!
It wasn't what you'd call a relaxing day, but the kids actually did great at the concert and we all had a really good time! AMAZING luck! Sometimes miracles do happen! :)
Kirsten was really excited to go to a concert, and she totally loved the music! We rocked out to Sheryl Crow, Colbie Caillat, and Sugarland!

Kirsten was really excited to go to a concert, and she totally loved the music! We rocked out to Sheryl Crow, Colbie Caillat, and Sugarland!
Natalie was pretty well-behaved for the most part. As long as we kept lots of toys and snacks out all over the blanket and gave her a bunch of attention, she was happy!
Kirsten was all OVER the place, climbing on us, playing with balloons, and being tickled. It was one big party to her!
(I think this should be Stephen's new profile pic on Facebook. Isn't that such a great daddy/daughter shot?)
It truly was a gorgeous day! Sunny and warm, with a beautiful sunset. It was a 2-hour drive each way, but the girls napped in the car for a lot of the way there and as soon as it started getting dark we put their pajamas on.
I was worried about how the girls would do as their bedtime rolled around, because Sarah McLachlan (my favorite!) was performing last and I knew I wanted to stay until the very end of the concert. And you know what? It worked out great! Stephen stood up and held Natalie toward the end, and she actually stayed awake until about 5 minutes after we strapped her into her carseat (at 11 pm) and drove home.
My very favorite moments of the whole concert happened towards the very end. We watched the gorgeous sunset, and then mellowed out together while Sarah McLachlan took the stage and sang her beautiful songs. I knew every single song she sang, and Kirsten cuddled up with her blankie and laid down with her head in my lap. She was awake the entire time, but was content to snuggle with me under the stars and listen to the music. It was so peaceful. I loved it!

We got home at 1 in the morning, got the kids to their beds, and finally hit the hay ourselves. It was a wonderful and exhausting day!
Of course, what better way to follow a day like that than taking the kids out late to see 4'th of July fireworks??? (It stays light for so long here, they don't even start fireworks shows until 10 pm or later!)

Luck was on our side that weekend! The rain stopped before the fireworks, the kids were happy munching on kettle corn while we waited for everything to start, and the fireworks were awesome! Kirsten loved them, and even Natalie wasn't scared!
It was really cute too. . . for the whole drive home after the fireworks, people were shooting their own fireworks off to the right and left, and Kirsten had such a blast pointing out all the fireworks. Then when we got home, she could still see some from her bedroom window and she just plastered herself to the window, not wanting to miss any of them. For the next few nights in a row, she asked to see fireworks again. :)
What I learned over that crazy weekend. . .
Sometimes it pays off in a good way to be adventurous with your young kids. It could turn out awful, but it could also turn out REALLY fun and you could create some great memories. So when in doubt. . . take your kids out!
Our crazy weekend wasn't actually over, because Stephen had the day off work the next day and we blew the nap and bedtime schedules again when we took the kids to the Northwest Trek Animal Park for the day. But I'll save that for another post. :)

I've been excited about this giveaway for awhile. . . you have the chance to win any of FOUR amazing prizes that you can use to make your home more beautiful!!!
I really love interior design. I've never studied it, unless you count HGTV shows as education. (Can I just say here that David Bromstad is my design hero and I would pretty much kill to have him design a room for me? Color Splash is the BEST!)
Anyway. . . I love to find awesome stuff that makes my home feel more comfortable, more beautiful, more inviting, and more like a place I want to spend time in. Since we do spend most of our time at home, shouldn't our goal be to create the ultimate space full of things we love? I definitely think so! So I'm excited to share four different companies that make it easier to do just that!
So here are the prizes you could win!!!
#1. . . ANY vinyl wall decal design of your choice from the Six Under A Tree Studio Etsy shop!!!

#4. . . A "Live, Laugh, Love" print, uniquely written in the sand by Nature's Notebook artist Courtney Noelle!
These prints are just so beautiful! I received one with mine and Stephen's names in the sand, and I've never seen any art piece like it. The artist takes the time to write each name or message in the sand and then photographs it when the sun is just right and reflecting off the ocean. Gorgeous!

There are tons of different options on the Nature's Notebook website, from canvas prints to inspirational quotes, and she can do an entire series of photographs with special names, dates, or anything you want. You can order the prints with or without frames. I think this is a really fabulous idea for a wedding or anniversary gift. It's incredibly unique and will definitely stand out from all those mixing bowl sets the couple will be getting. Go check out this talented artist and have her create something special for your loved ones!

And There WAS A Final Rose!!!
I just watched The Bachelorette Finale and all I can say is. . . . Awwwwwww!!!!
Okay, that's not all I have to say. :) Here are a few of my thoughts about the finale:
*Am I a nut if a reality show made me cry? Fine, call me a nut. . . It made me cry! Who else will admit that they cried too?
*I was so afraid she wasn't going to pick anybody. Which would have made her CRAZY, because these were the two most amazing final two you could possibly get! Seriously, I have never liked the final two SO much before, and they were my two favorites from the very beginning. If I were Ali, I would have picked Chris. He is my type of guy. But I knew that she just couldn't go wrong, as long as she picked either one of them.
Okay, that's not all I have to say. :) Here are a few of my thoughts about the finale:

But I knew that she just couldn't go wrong, as long as she picked either one of them.

*Um, book me on the next plane to Bora Bora! It's been on my must-see list for awhile, and after seeing the crystal clear water and all the sting rays swimming right up to them, I now want to go even more!
*Along with probably every other girl in America, I just love Chris. For his witty, funny comments I've been enjoying all season, his incredible family values, his passion for life, the very mature and classy way he responded to being dumped by Ali and all the nice things he had to say to her. . . SUCH a stellar guy. And WOW, his whole experience with the rainbow at the end was just so heartbreakingly beautiful. He absolutely HAS to be the next Bachelor!
*I also thought it was really cool that Ali chose to let him go the day before the final rose, to show respect to him and make it easier on him. I didn't even know the show allowed them to do that! I didn't see that coming at all, but I could see that she wasn't as into him as she should have been and she wasn't going to choose him at the end. He deserves someone who's head over heels for him, and Ali just wasn't. (And lots of single girls out there are probably glad she wasn't!)
*Want to know the reason Roberto looked so sweaty? I read on Chris Harrison's blog post here that after the boat ride he had to climb 100 stairs straight up a mountain in 90-degree heat with 90-percent humidity to get to Ali. But it sure was a gorgeous view! Chris Harrison also thought Ali couldn't have made a wrong choice and called Roberto and Chris two of the finest men they've ever had on the show.
*I really hope Ali and Roberto stay together and that they do get married! They just seem SO happy together, and Roberto's proposal was really beautiful and sincere. What a great end to the season! Much, much happier and better than the ending I was expecting!
*It's pretty cool that they're moving to San Diego together. Maybe I can go stalk them when I'm visiting my family down there in a couple of weeks. ;)
*Wow, what a great season! The show really needed that, after the train wreck disaster that was Jake and Vienna. Jake on his own was bad enough. . . he was such an awkward Bachelor. The whole Vienna thing just made it worse! If Chris gets to be on the next season of the Bachelor, it will be a zillion times better!
Can't wait to get some comments and see what everyone else thinks! If you watched the show too, please chime in and tell me your opinions!

Fun Finds: Tooth Fairy Pillow!
Check out these totally cute tooth fairy pillows, handcrafted out of felt and sold in the Flutterbye Dreams Etsy shop.

The tooth pocket is sewed right onto the front of the pillow. I love this fun idea, to give your child a safe place to put their tooth and then look for the tooth fairy's reward the next day. Kirsten hasn't lost any teeth yet (and won't for quite awhile!) but when she does I am really looking forward to bringing out the special "Tooth Fairy Pillow".
Fun Finds: Toy Cleaner!
I recently found a really great solution for the ongoing task of cleaning and de-germing toys. If a kid comes over to play and has a runny nose or a cough (or one of my own kids does and I don't want the other one catching it!), I just gather up all the toys they've played with and give them a good spray and wipe with Dapple Toy Cleaner Spray.
What I really like about it:*It's super easy, and you don't even have to think about it. Just spray down anything babies and little kids touch and wipe it and you're done! I love using it to clean up the high chair after my very messy baby is done eating her meals.
*It's made with natural-based ingredients, biodegradable, and not tested on animals.
*It smells really nice, because they fragrance it with pure lavender essential oil. No nasty chemical smells!
The price: You can buy it from Toysrus.com, and it's $19.99 for a 3 pack with free shipping! Pretty good! Next I want to buy the Dapple Toy Cleaner Wipes to make it even easier.
Fun Finds: Bugaloo Baby Shoes Giveaway!!!
Aren't these some of the cutest little baby shoes you've ever seen in your life???
I just adore them!!!These baby shoes are handmade by Bugaloo, out of REALLY soft leather. They have cotton-lined, flexible soles, so they're great for a new walker or a baby who's learning to walk. And they come in sizes from newborn to 18 months.
Natalie doesn't really fit into these little sizes anymore, but I love this Emma pair SO much I'm going to buy them for my new baby to wear this winter. Aren't these too precious for words???
Some other things I love about Bugaloo baby shoes:*The PRICE is amazing! $12.99 right now for any pair of these high-quality baby shoes in their shop. The creators of this company have a philosophy that quality baby shoes should cost under $20, and they keep their costs low by eliminating all overhead and advertising mostly by word-of-mouth. I think these are such a fantastic deal. Robeez cost twice as much (or more!) and they're not as unique or adorable as Bugaloo shoes!!!
*The shoes are machine washable!
*They stay on baby feet really well, thanks to an elastic ankle band.
*They have the CUTEST designs. I would want to own every single pair!
Bugaloo is offering an awesome giveaway to all my blog readers. . . any pair of baby shoes of the winner's choice!!! They do have some really awesome pairs for boys as well, like these sporty little green tennis shoes! Enter to win a pair for your own baby or future baby, or to give away as an amazing baby shower gift that anyone would love!!!*Visit Bugaloo and leave a comment on this post, telling me which pair of shoes is your favorite!

Happy Friday!
It certainly was a Happy Friday today. . . just LOOK at what I found at the cute Farmer's Market at the Country Village:
These are fresh boysenberries!!! If you live in the Pacific Northwest, you might know how incredibly hard these are to find (or you might have never tasted one before). Everyone up here sells blackberries, but I can never find boysenberries! And I found them today!!! I bought four pints of them and oh, they're so amazing! TONS more flavor than blackberries! Some other happy-Friday-worthy stuff:
*Yesterday I had to take my dreaded glucose test at the doctor's (notice this post is not called Happy Thursday). When I took it on my last pregnancy, I barely failed it and had to come back for the 3-hour test of torture. I was just hoping and praying this would NOT happen again! It was bad enough to do it once!
Then today I noticed the doctor's office was calling, and my heart sank (basically, no news is good news. A call usually means you failed it). BUT, it turns out my glucose test was fine! WHEW!!! They were actually calling to tell me my blood count was way too low, and I need to start taking iron pills. No wonder I felt like I was seriously going to pass out after walking around the Farmer's Market in the sun with the kids for about an hour. Anemia and the third trimester usually go together for me, unfortunately. But I passed the glucose test! Whoo-hoo!!!

*Slurpees. I am all about the Slurpees lately. On a warm day, nothing hits the spot like an extra-large Cherry Slurpee! And 7-11's are so easy to find. They really are everywhere!

*Homemade Rice Krispie treats! (Yes, most of my Happy Friday stuff is about food. I'm pregnant, give me a break!) I made a whole pan of these for our camping trip and couldn't believe they were totally GONE by the end of the two-day trip. And Stephen didn't eat any! They were delicious and I'm totally making more this weekend. (They must be homemade to make me happy. I can't stand the blue foil-wrapped ones!)

*Hansen's Cherry Vanilla Cream soda. Does anybody else love this stuff? We usually only buy them when we go camping, so drinking one makes me think of camping every time!

*Watermelon, if it's a really good one. The perfect watermelon is like a slice of summery heaven! Hard to find, but very worth it when you do!

*The Route 44-sized Dr. Pepper with cherry and vanilla flavoring from Sonic. My guilty pleasure, for sure! We don't live very close to a Sonic, but there was one on the way (and the way home from!) our camping trip. Loved it!
*Discovering new ways to get Kirsten to ingest some veggies into her body, since she refuses to touch them if they're on her plate!
Veggie cheat #1: Goldfish Garden Cheddar crackers. There may not be a lot of veggies in each serving, but every little bit helps!

Today's Fun Find I'm dying to share with you is. . . the most precious, adorable car seat cover in the entire world!!!
I waited all the way until I had my second baby to get a car seat cover. And let's face it. . . the Graco infant car seats, while incredibly safe and functional, are not known for their looks. Mine is navy blue with Winnie the Pooh fabric, and pretty much ugly as can be. I fell in LOVE with this car seat cover from Redbird Couture the minute I saw it online. I HAD to have it! And I have been loving it every day since then!!!

What I love about it:
1. It's GORGEOUS and just can't get any cuter!
2. The quality is amazing! Thick, extremely soft fabric that I wish I could ride around in all day the way newborns can. Natalie loved the cushy, wooly white fabric on the inside and she slept in it so well!
3. The Redbird design that I chose works equally well for boys and girls (someday. . . I WILL have a boy someday!)
4. Little loops are included on the sides for attaching toys and links.
5. I have seen a lot of car seat covers and this one is by FAR the softest, most adorable, and best quality of any I have ever seen! I will recommend it forever!
The price: $59! A true bargain for such a quality product that you will get tons of use out of!
*If you're not worried about keeping things gender-neutral, I also love this blossoms design!
